What’s your solution for transporting your stinky clothes?? I often ran into this problem when i was traveling for races. More times than not hotel check-out was before all race festivities were completed, so that resulted in changing in the car or making a quick stop at a McDonald’s bathroom. This made for some nice smelling rides back home.
Enter the opportunity to try out Eagle Creek’s newest product, the Pack-It Sport Active set. I received the tennis ball color, but don’t fret, 3 other colors available, including black. You get 2 bags, 1 holds your clothes and the other holds your smelly shoes. The bag that holds your clothes has 2 compartments, one for your wet clothes and one for the dry so no mixing with the funk. It advertises that the wet compartment will keep the funk in, I was certainly going to test that statement. The prime opportunity presented itself when Rock and Roll Raleigh weekend rolled around. I would be running a 5k Saturday and Half marathon on Sunday. After both races I would have volunteer events, so I would need to change before heading to the venues. After the 5k, I threw my sweaty clothes in the wet compartment and threw on my dry ones. I put my sneakers in their compartment and headed to my event. Temperature got up to around 80s degrees and sunny, so I was cautious when I headed back to my car after volunteering. I didn’t know if I would be greeted with a smelly bomb upon opening my car doors. I opened the door and took a deep breath in…NOTHING. I smelled nothing from the wet clothes inside my bag. The Pack-It Sport Active set passed the first test, but the real test would come the following day after my half marathon.
Half Marathon race day, the temps got up to 85 so I was good and sweaty by the time I finished. After ringing them out, I tossed them in my pack-it sport, asking with my shoes. This time the clothes would be sitting in my hot car for 4 hours in the sun, so if the pack-it sport held up, we would be in business. 4 hours later I returned to the car and……. again NOTHING. After that performance, the new Eagle Creek pack-it sport had a new loyal customer. Not only does it protect your clothes (and nose) but the handles make it easy to carry.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Eagle Creek Pack-It Sport Active Set to all active runners as well as anyone that is active Period.
