Marathon Training Day 14

I wanted to get out a little earlier than I did, but I was still out of the house by 7am. I headed out to take on Umstead Park. I had to get my mindset right starting yesterday because Umstead is dreaded by the majority of runners in the area. Not only is it gravel trails but it has the most hills, by far, of any location in the RTP area. Hills make you stronger but that doesn’t make me like them any more. I came across a good number of runners and cyclists who were also battling Umstead. When all was said and done, I had finished 8.15 miles with avg pace of 9’32” and negative splits. That means I was getting stronger as the miles were adding up, which is a win for me. šŸƒšŸ‘Œ #fitness #health #training
